Seventeenth May, 2008
I am admittedy more than a week late posting this update, but the timing works out nicely in that it allows me to share another exciting bit of related news.

The theatrical trailer for "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" was recently the winner of a Golden Trailer award. And now its international incarnation has been nominated for Best International Trailer at the prestigious Key Art Awards.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 13th. If I might implore you, Gentle Reader, keep your fingers cruciform.

Fourth May, 2008
My newest short story, "A Grave Ordeal," has been added to the Short Stories page.

Twenty-First December, 2007
Today I have made available two new pieces on the Film & Television Advertising page, these being the international trailer for "Sweeney Todd" and, at last, a gorgeous Quicktime copy of the theatrical trailer for "Look."

Enjoy, Gentle Reader, and may you have a wonderful holiday season!

Second December, 2007
And now a huge high definition Quicktime copy of the domestic theatrical trailer for "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" has been added to the Film & Television Advertising page. This TRULY looks amazing.

It is considerably larger than any other video on the site, and as such necessitated an acceptance that the formatting consistent among all other pages here would need be broken. As this piece is perhaps my personal favorite among trailers I have cut, and as the film itself is so unbelievable in its quality and grandeur of photography, I hope, Gentle Reader, you will agree that seeing the trailer look like this is worth the reformatting.

First December, 2007
A gorgeous new high resolution Quicktime copy of the theatrical trailer for "Love in the Time of Cholera" has been added to the Film & Television Advertising page. It truly looks amazing.

Nineteenth November, 2007
I have added the theatrical trailer for "Look" to the Film & Television Advertising page. It is, at present, simply an embedded copy off of Moviefone, but rest assured that a Quicktime version will take its place as soon as I have a copy.

Many thanks go to Ben Jackson for his additional editorial work, although in truth the real star of the piece is the incredible graphic work by Greg Brotherton, an amazing artist and sculptor whose own work can be seen at Brotron.com.

Seventeenth October, 2007
I have added the theatrical trailer for "Love in the Time of Cholera" to the Film & Television Advertising page.

Twenty-Second September, 2007
In addition to its domestic theatrical trailer, I was also responsible for the international theatrical trailer of "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," as well as the international :90 cutdown.

These two pieces have now been added to the "Film & Television Advertising" page.

Third September, 2007
To the Art page I have added "Chair," an experimental film from 1999, primarily intended as a gallery video installation.

Twenty-Ninth August, 2007
And today to the Poetry page I have added two little pieces called "Used Book" and "Catcher's Mitt." The two are a pair, two parts of what I'd briefly seen as a series devoted to the characters and stories at a garage sale. These were the only two pieces I ended up writing. That is to say, they are the only two I have so far written.

Twenty-Eighth August, 2007
I have added to the Short Stories page a piece titled "Taking a Bath." It was written in 1997, so some of the writing is admittedly not quite up to snuff, but it remains one of my personal favorites and a clear influence on work that came later. Enjoy!

Twenty-Fifth August, 2007
Many apologies for the long delay in updates, Gentle Reader.

Many intriguing curiosities added today! Close examination of the updated Film & TV Advertising page will reveal three new pieces, these being the domestic theatrical trailer for "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," as well as television spots for "The Invasion" and "Live Free or Die Hard."

I have attempted a reformatting of the aforementioned "Film & TV Advertising" page. If, by any chance, it looks peculiar on your browser, I would greatly appreciate a communiqué dictating as much, as on my system all appears right and good. Though I have learned for others often this is not the case. If the page appears wrong, please contact me.

Some agreeable news, Gentle Reader!

A clip from "Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite" will be played as part of the next episode of "Media Lab Shorts Uploaded" on the Independent Film Channel! Now begins the process of completing the necessary paperwork.

Not sure yet precisely when the episode airs, but rest assured you will know when I do.

In other news, I have entered both "Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite" and "Incidents in a Traffic Jam" into a fairly broad contest called FAMECAST. Not sure exactly what one wins, but judging from the caliber of the other contestants, among whom is my good friend Mighty Mike McGee, this competition must be something of a big deal. "Bed Bugs" has been entered into the Short Film category, and "Traffic Jam" into Spoken Word. Please follow the respective links above should you wish to help me out and cast your vote.

Nineteenth May, 2007
I have redesigned the FILM page, and made available there a live studio production film which I wrote and produced in 2001 called
"In the Dark." It tells the story of a young writer trapped in her apartment with her estranged father during a blackout.

Fifteenth May, 2007
"Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite" is currently playing as part of the "Urban Legends Redux" contest at Ziddio.

If you would, please take a moment to follow this link and give the film a high rating. Be aware that for your vote to count, you must register on the site, which takes no time at all.
I fear many friends and relatives who believed they voted did not register, and so their votes were not in fact counted.

Additionally, I have added an acting reel I edited for my good friend Matthew Montgomery to the "Demo Reels for Other Folks" page.
Be sure to view it here and, should you have need of an excellent actor, cast him.

Twenty-Ninth April, 2007
Don't forget, Gentle Reader, that we still need your votes for "Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite" over at IFC Media Lab!

If the film scores highly, it could be played on the Independent Film Channel, so please, follow this link and be sure to give the film five stars!

And while you're there, be sure to give a high rating also to the music video for Surgeon Marta "Send More Cops"!

Twentieth April, 2007
For posterity's sake, I have added a link on the MISCELLANEA page to my old, out-of-date website.

Also, a reminder, Gentle Reader, that my short film "Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite" will be screening this May at the "L'UOVO DI NAPOLI: I MISTERI DEL CAPOLUOGO PARTENOPEO" film festival in Naples.

First April, 2007
And so it goes that I have been turned by my cousins and friends to the dark side... that is to say, Gentle Reader, that I have started a blog.

Time will tell for how long I shall maintain it, as in the past I have found my ability to keep a proper journal wanting... still, for now I find it enjoyable, and have created a link on the WRITING page by which my new blog may be accessed.

Twenty-Sixth March, 2007
Many apologies, Gentle Reader, for the three-month gap since last this site was updated.
Regrettably, my computer woes are yet to be resolved.

Still, I have managed to add several new television spots to the "Movie Advertising" section of EDITING, among them spots for the films "Deja Vu" and "Primeval," as well as my spot for the television program "Criminal Minds," which aired during this past Superbowl.

My short film "Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite," which is a stand-alone excerpt from the feature film "Journeyman," has been invited to screen this May at the "L'UOVO DI NAPOLI: I MISTERI DEL CAPOLUOGO PARTENOPEO" film festival in Naples.

Presently work continues on the screenplays for both the horror film "The Humboldt County Massacre" and the action-adventure film "The Most Dangerous Game." And, as always, I continue to plug away at my novel, "A Gentle Winter."

More soon.

Twenty-Sixth December, 2006
I have added two television spots I cut for the film "Black Christmas" to the "Movie Advertising" section of EDITING.

Twenty-Second December, 2006
A word of recommendation, Gentle Reader.

My good friend Tony Swarthout, who runs the excellent Filmgeneration.com, has just completed his latest short film, entitled "Love Blind," and it is truly a thing to behold.

Should you find yourself with a moment to spare, and in need of a bit of a nightmare, I strongly urge you to click below and watch what in my mind represents a real milestone in Tony's work thus far:

"Love Blind" A Film by Tony Swarthout

Fifteenth December, 2006
Quite a few subtle changes made to the site today, my friends.

Please allow your explorations to take you to the following updated pages: WRITING, MUSIC, and MISCELLANEA.

First December, 2006
Thanks to my good friend Mike McGee, and the great, great folks over at Green, my once feverish interest in the open mic and slam poetry scene is threatening to return with a vengeance. And as a result, I have, for the first time in years, written a poem with the intention of performing it live.

The piece is titled "Family Photo," and I have made it available in the "Poetry" section of WRITING. You may also read it by simply clicking the poem's title in the previous sentence.

Sixteenth November, 2006
My short film "Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite," which is a standalone excerpt from the feature film "Journeyman," is currently playing on IFC Media Lab.

I am in great need of viewers who will watch the film and rate it with a very high score, as the films with the highest ratings stand a good chance of being shown on television.

Please follow this link to view the film, and remember to give it a 10!

Fifteenth November, 2006
Should it be of interest to you, Gentle Reader, I have added a spec commercial directed by Mr. Azad Jafarian to the ACTING page.

In addition, I have made available three old computer games I made many years ago. These can be found under MISCELLANEA.

Eleventh November, 2006
I have recently added several pieces to the "Movie Advertising" section of EDITING.

Fifth November, 2006
Thank you to everyone who came out for the world premiere screening of the Surgeon Marta music video "Send More Cops." Thank you in particular to everyone who supported this excellent band by purchasing copies of the video on DVD.

The video is now available in the "Music Videos" section of EDITING, and will shortly be available on YouTube and on Surgeon Marta's mySpace page.

Thirtieth October, 2006
This Saturday, November 4th, at Warszawa in Santa Monica, CA, the excellent Irish punk band Surgeon Marta will be playing a show whereat they shall unveil the music video for their song "Send More Cops," which was edited by me.

The event begins at 10:00pm, and admission is free.

I hope, Gentle Reader, to see you there, as a wonderful time will be had by all. For more information, please follow this link.

The video will be available in the "Music Videos" section of EDITING, as well as on YouTube and on Surgeon Marta's mySpace page, a day or so after the show.

Twenty Second October, 2006
I have modified the POETRY page. Now upon selecting "Incidents in a Traffic Jam," instead of seeing a written copy of the poem, you will instead see a video of me performing the poem at the Silicon Valley Poetry Slam. This was the performance that placed me in the semi-finals for the National Poetry Slam in 1999.

In addition, I have added an audio recording of a live perfomance of a piece called "Paradise," recorded at some other slam. Not a brilliant poem, but still worth checking out. The words to this poem later became an integral part of the Lamentation song "Voiciferous Flight," which can be found under MUSIC.

Nineteenth October, 2006
I have recently completed work on the newest PAWS/LA video, which will be screening this Sunday, October the Twenty-Second, at the PetArt 8 art auction being held at Avalon in Hollywood, CA.

The event is great fun and supports a terrific cause. Doors open at 4:30pm, and tickets may be purchased by visiting www.pawsla.org or by calling 323.464.7297 X116.

I hope to see you there!

The video will be available for viewing in the "Promo Videos" section of EDITING next week, after the event has taken place.

Twelfth October, 2006
New categories have been added, these being ACTING and MISCELLANEA. The categories of CHAMELEON, SUNSHINE DRAMA TROOP, and LINKS can be found now under this heading, with, of course, more on the way.

In addition, two new trailers have been added to the "Movie Advertising" section of EDITING, these being Art Thief Musical! and Matrimonium, and changes have been made to the layout of the WRITING area.

Work continues on A Gentle Winter, with a great deal of progress having been made of late!

I recently completed work on the trailer for the new United Gay Network film Michael Akers' Phoenix. Look for it to be up soon.

Twenty-Ninth September, 2006
On this day I have made available in the FILM area my student film "Gilgamesh" which, in the Year of Our Lord 2001, took 2nd Place at the Spindletop Film Festival in Texas.

It runs a bit longer than the majority of the films on this site, but I do hope, Gentle Reader, that you will, at your leisure, take some time to view it. As even though it be the last film of mine lacking in age-appropriate actors and any real sort of production value, it remains a personal favorite, and in many ways a summation of all thoughts and styles with which I had until then been experimenting.

9.10.06
In the end, Gentle Reader, we are all of us slaves to our technologies. So it is that, due to circumstances unforeseen relating to the, shall we say, conditions of specific equipment at KSCU, the radio interview has been tentatively postponed until Sunday, October the First.

Before that day, however, it may happen that the interview is recorded and subsequently made available here before it is even played on the air. Please maintain your vigil over this site, in case of that eventuality.

9.6.06
On Sunday, September the Tenth, I shall be giving a radio interview on the Videodrome Radio program on KSCU 103.3 FM in Santa Clara, CA, regarding "Journeyman." The program airs at 8:00pm, PST.

In addition, the EDITING section is finally healthy. The design of the layout will be changing over the next week or so, but please enjoy at your leisure the television spots, trailers, and other sundry curios to be found there, bearing in mind that many more will be added soon.

9.2.06
The EDITING section is alive at last, though due to problems with my Internet Service Provider and/or host, many of the spots are not fully loading, and some of the images remain unlinked.

With luck these problems will shortly be remedied.
Until then, Gentle Reader, hope.

8.24.06
"JOURNEYMAN" will be screening today at the Idaho Panhandle International Film Festival in Sandpoint, ID.

Additionally, I have updated the MUSIC page, adding two songs to the Solo Material area. Enjoy, friends, and please let me know what you think.

8.13.06
A pleasant surprise for any Lamentation fans that may cast their eyes upon this site!
In 2001, DJ Wurlpul and I recorded two of our "jam sessions." For all intents and purposes these two sessions yielded little more than garbage. However there was one portion of the first session, known as "Untitled 1," with which I believe we were both quite pleased. And so as a bonus track, I have made this extract from that session available on the Lamentation page, under MUSIC. If this meets with a positive response, there is the possibility that I shall post more extracts from either session.

8.8.06
How now, Gentle Reader, that I anticipate adding two areas to this site. The overwhelming support I have received from the posting of Sunshine Drama Troop shorts to YouTube has led me to believe that they should be represented here as well. And so that will soon be up.

As will an area dedicated to my spoken word. While I do not, in fact, own many recordings of myself performing slam poetry, this was a crucial enough aspect of my work that I feel I should make what I do have available.

8.7.06
Lo, Gentle Reader! Presently I have added the audio of the original Lamentations of Danz featuring the Monkey piece to its page in ART.

Additionally, I have embedded a YouTube copy of Most Dangerous Game in FILM.

Most areas of the site are just about ready, though I still await copies of some recent finishes before I am able to make accessible the EDITING section. And, of course, CHAMELEON will take some time to complete.

5.29.06
